I have been using Netflix for more then 2 years and have been very happy with it. Also i do not like blockbuster because of their late fee in the old days. I hate they would charge not matter what. So that left a bad taste in my mouth so when netflix came out I jump ship. That was just a side rant(sorry)
The story I want to talk about it that Netflix is offering unlimited streaming movies. I have do this for a while but know that they offer unlimited streaming I will be doing this a lot more. I know apple is offering movie rental on i-Tunes.
The only thing I don't like is the selection of movie on the streaming are not the best but is getting better.

Microsoft Eyeing Yahoo!
The rumor of Microsoft buy Yahoo! has came up again and this has caused a jump in Yahoo! up $1.46, or 6.5%, at $24.02. A peice in the New York Post entitled "MICROSOFT DEAL KING TO LAUNCH OWN FIRM" and the last line of the story says"Sources close to Microsoft say the company is still debating if it should make last year's informal offer to buy Yahoo! official by going public with its bid."
That little sentence a big jump for the stock. I would like Yahoo! and Microsoft to join force because this would give more competition to Google. Yahoo! and Microsoft are not much of chanallge to Google by themself but they are one the that is when the fight will get very interesting. Now Yahoo! has made it in my watchlist of stocks

One Huge TV
Panasonic has 50 inch HDTV (12.5 feet wide screen)There is no price tag. but could image this is a sports bar? or even better in house. I really thing this should be used for movie houses. Because we are still using a projection system and the homes system are HD TV. The movie house are not nice screen as the ones you can get for you home.

The Perfect Beer
Here is another product that want to help you get that prefect beer experience. Heineken (beer maker) and Krupp (electronic company) has come up with a system that will give a perfect beer. This is clearly for people with money and a bar in their house (I wish I was one of them) the price will go for $200. This just tells you the ideal conditions of your perfect beer. I will not be buy this for my self because let face it after three or four beers, you will not be able to tell the perfect beer from the perfectly bad beer. All this talk of beer has made me thirsty.

Molly Wood Seak about CES 08
Molly Wood is www.CNET.com editor. She gives her opinion of CES 2008. And she thinks there is no product a CES that is the best gadget. I have to say the items she is looking for are usually have their own release date and is not show too much at the CES. Case in point the iPhone, it had its own release date and was not shown at CES. I guess that is a bad example because Apple does things on its own. I guess CES is mainly the place to see what Microsoft is releasing and this year the only thing that is getting released is Bill Gate retirement. But the curve monitor and the voice active GPS are the top products of CES.

Massage Chairs
Every notice that old you get the more aches and pains we feel. A comedian once say (I am not sure which one) “you know when you are getting old when you use the words Sleeping wrong. A co-worker is bending over and has the look of pain on his face and all he needs to say is that “He Sleep Wrong””. I would add that you are getting older when a massage feels good.
I spent a lot of time in my chair in front of my computer and after a while my back gets very tired. So I am look at Massage Chairs. The place to go is Human Touch Massage Chairs. They have a great line of chairs that will help with that sour back. The peoples at Human Touch have though of all you aching muscles and they have a chair that will make you feel like you have a trained message therapist working on you back, but you do not have to pay every visit. The prices for these special chairs are very reasonable, they are not the cheap I have seen but they look well built.

Even Bill Does not like it
Did he say what I think he said….Ok if I am talking about an interview with Bill Gate and he was asked “What product in the last five years that he wish he could polish a little more”
Bill laughs and says “Ask me after the new version of window is ship and then I can be more blunt with my answer.”
Click here to See the interview Question
That just show the head of Microsoft is not too happy with this Vista. I don’t blame him. I am still having troubles with my Vista machine too. I wish some would ask him which does he like better Vista or XP. I think Bill is using the new version of window that has not been named yet. It is hard to buy a new computer when the head of the Microsoft does not like the version of windows.

Region Free DVD player
I am a big movie guy and I love watch a great movie and it does not have to in English to be a great movie. There are a lot of great movie that are in a differ language and with the internet and eBay you are able to find these great movie but there is only one problem you need a multi-region DVD player.
So you can buy the entire different region DVD player and this would cost plenty of money and all not all will be able to play with you TV or not work with the voltage of this country. A sound hopeless but it is not. There is a simple way to take care of this. All you have to do is go to DVD unlocker. This software that will be creates a region free DVD player. The website is very easy and simple that is a big plus from me and all the item need is all on one page and they make very simple to order DVD unlocker.

Microsoft buy Search Engine

It seems Microsoft is still trying beat out Google but instead of creating a search engine that works. They rather through some cash around a buy a working search engine. This time they have a Norwegian company called Fast Search & Transfer. This specializes in business-search (what that means I do not know) Microsoft got for as steal it will only cost them $1.2 billion.
Microsoft could have bought the Swedish Chef Search engine for my cheaper but only problem is all the results are in “Urby Urby , Sop, Pork, Pork and blow up the chicken”

Alienware curved monitor

With CES going on We get to see a lot of new produces,(also known as my Christmas list) One that has me floored is the alienware curved monitor. It is a 42 inch curved seamless display. With that description it seem like my pick of a winner. I think if(when) I buy it will be my main monitor and also my television. I guess I am off to Ebay again and sell my old tv and monitors.

Is the Battle Over

The battle that I am talking about is the format wars. HDDVD and Blu-ray are two different formats that is going to take the place of DVDs. If have not heard Blu-ray took a huge win when Warner Bros has signed a deal to go Exclusive with Sony's Blu-Ray. So knowing that Paramount is thinking of switching its allegiance to Sony. If that is the case then in the HDDVD will have only have Universal studios if Paramount leaves. Sony Bu-Ray already have Walt Disney, 20th Century Fox, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Lionsgate. I remember see that Sony camp has paid up to 500 million to get WB on board with the Blu-Ray format. Sony is smart even if they have to pay all the studio a large sum of cash to get them on to pick a their side. It will only be an investment cost for Sony because they will have a chance to win this format war and will start to sell their Blu-ray disc and players. So with this update I still going sit on the fence and wait but I am leaning towards Sony's Blu-ray. Now the Playstation 3 is starting look like a better investment. Because the Playstation 3 has a Blu-ray player in it.

Bill funny part of Keynote Speech at CES 2008
I told you about the Bill Gates keynotes and I told you about the there was a funny video about the last day of Bill Gates. He is still playing the part of a nerd and trying to get the cool kid to like him. It is still very funny. It has an office television show fell. What I mean is that everyone doing the interview are in front of a window with blinds. I was just funny to see him talk to Jon Stewrt.

Sony has Screwed the old PSP users
Sony has announced that PSP will get Skype at the next firmware update. Yeah... but it will only be available for the new PSP and the old Fat PSP will not be able to use this service. That sucks. I have the old one and have been very happy with it and know that I heard about this makes me want to sell it and get the new one. I guess this is the push towards the newer model that is the direction Sony will be heading. Before all the new stuff of the PSP vs. the Old PSP were not a big deal but with Skype can through me over the edge.
here are the highlights of the newer PSP
1. will have skype
2. smaller and lighter(I played with this and it feels a little too light)
3. quicker load time
4. can project to a TV
I guess I am heading towards ebay:
A Slick Black Playstation Portable for sale sightly used... lightly scratched on the back and no scratches on the screen.....Any takers?

CES is Back
"This will be the first time since I was 17 that I won't have my full-time Microsoft job," he said, introducing the video.
He then tried his hand at several post-Microsoft vocations in a series of self-deprecating sketches:

New Laptops
Dell has made the 15.4-inch Inspiron Notebook light, more colorful and connected. the Inspiron is slimmer and up to 25% smaller the last year models. Also the have made more color available. I am happy about the lighter of the computer. It will coming in the original eight color options like Midnight Blue and Ruby Red but they will have pattern like Blossom, Chill, Commotion and Street

500 Gb notebook hard drive
This is crazy. but not surprising that laptops with a huge hard drives. Hitachi is one that have shown first but with CES coming up I am sure the other hard drive companies will are not too far behind. I know every is talking about this large hard drive but I truly believe that the future of hard drive will be Flash Drives. It still needs to catch with the memory size but it will. I think in the next year we will see a notebook with out a hard drive but with a Flash drive memory. I think the largest flash momery you can buy is 32 Gb.(still to small for a laptop)

LG and Netflix Team up

Last week Apple made a deal to have a rentals on their i-Tunes. And Amazon teamed with Tivo to have rental movies brought to your box. This made sense for apple to do this. So we could expect other companies to get their own rental services out there. Netflix and LG are creating a set top box that will allow you to stream movies to you TV. This move seem very late. I remember a time(2years ago) when Tivo and Neflix were teaming up to create this service, but it have never happened. I guess this would work if the box are not too expensive also my big question are they going to have any new movies or is going to be that crappy stuff on their online streaming services. Only time will tell.
